January 21 AAT Community Conversation - "Data Platforms: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!"

When:  Jan 21, 2021 from 13:00 to 14:00 (CT)
Join the Analytics Architecture & Technology Community on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM CT for a presentation with open discussion and Q&A on "Data Platforms: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!". Navigating what big data and data storage platforms your organization requires can be confusing. Questions like the following may often come to mind.

  • Do you have a big data platform?
  • Are you looking at big data platforms?
  • What use cases require the big data platform?
  • What features do you need out of a data platform?
  • Who maintains the data platform?
  • Can a business user create and manage their own data in the data platform?
  • How are you building out your platforms? (Cloud/On-Premise)
  • How do you determine if you do or don't need certain tool sets within your data platform
  • Have you considered features within traditional platforms (Microsoft, Oracle, Etc.)?
  • What additional skills were required to introduce a new platform?

Fortunately, we have a utility who has navigated this situation. In this session, Joyce LePage, Manager, Enterprise Data & Analytics COE at DTE Energy will share her insights on traditional data storage and Big Data platforms. In addition we will discuss the pros and cons of building data storage on premise and the cloud.
