February 23rd Safety Analytics Community Conversation - "Transforming El Paso Electric’s Safety Cult

Join the Safety Analytics Community on Tuesday, February 23 at 2:00 PM CT for a presentation with Q&A and open discussion on "Transforming El Paso Electric’s Safety Culture Through Data Analytics" with Derek Grimes, Safety Manager and Kara Randle, Analyst with El Paso Electric. El Paso Electric are within the beginning stages of their safety analytics journey and transformation. During this session, we will step through their challenges, wins, current state and where they want to head in the short term and long term.  As part of the current state, they will also share some Power BI visualizations.

Presenters: 
  • Derek Grimes, Safety Manager at El Paso Electric. Derek started with El Paso Electric in 2015 as a Safety Representative and was promoted to Manager of the Safety Department in 2019. He has been in the utility industry for 16 years, starting as a Turbine Technician/Operator and eventually moved into safety. Derek has an undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety and Health, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
  • Kara Randle, Analyst at El Paso Electric. Kara is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of KPI's to executive and regulatory agencies. She has been with El Paso Electric for 2 years and has made many positive changes that go beyond her main responsibilities. The most positive change includes leading and being at the forefront of deploying El Paso Electric’s business intelligence initiative with a data centric foundation.
