When:  Jan 16, 2024 from 11:00 to 12:00 (CT)

Join the Grid Analytics Community on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM CT for a presentation with Q&A and open discussion on, "Why the U.S. Electric Grid Lags Behind in the Energy Transition" led by Larry Gasteiger, Executive Director at WIRES.

Session Description:

In order to meet ambitious clean energy objectives, keep up with the demands of an increasingly electrified economy, and ensure grid resilience against a variety of threats, numerous experts and studies indicate the grid will need to undergo substantial expansion, doubling or even tripling its current capacity in the next few decades. But transmission owners and developers face a variety of daunting and intractable obstacles to their ability to expand the transmission system. What are some of the regulatory and legislative efforts to address these challenges, and will they be adequate to meet the nation’s rapidly approaching transmission needs?
