Session Description:

As the utility analytics industry increasingly integrates Generative AI into its operations, policy and governance become paramount to ensure both security and innovation thrive. In this panel discussion, experts will delve into their approaches to managing access to Large Language Models (LLMs) within organizations, balancing security with the drive for innovation. They will shed light on the involvement of various organizations such as legal, internal audit, and ethics bodies in governing AI initiatives. Panelists will discuss the establishment of AI steering committees or task forces, offering insights into their organizational structures and objectives. The session will also address data classification in private LLMs, emphasizing the controls implemented to safeguard data, be it customer information, metering data, or internal benefits plan details. Additionally, utility leaders will share strategies for assessing and mitigating risks associated with Generative AI, insights into structuring governance teams, and the development of Risk Management Frameworks. Attendees, especially those from cybersecurity and data governance teams, will gain valuable perspectives on policy and standard documentation to manage Gen AI risks and ensure effective model governance.
